Series: 4 Weeks, Learn to Knit with Amy Tozer
Saturdays, August 8-29, 11am-1pm
In this four-session class, you will not only learn to knit, but also complete a charming checkerboard hat with tassels. Because who wants to knit a boring rectangle scarf?
Students will create the Checkerboard Hat by Amy Tozer, a toddler-sized hat knit using three colors of yarn. Materials are not included in the class fee. All students receive a 10% discount when buying class supplies at Pink Tiger Fabric & Yarn.
In this class, students learn:
- casting on
- the knit stitch
- knitting in the round
- reading a pattern
- colorwork (knitting with two colors at once)
- decreasing
- weaving in ends
- making tassels.

Materials Needed:
- Size US 7 16" circular needle
- Size US 7 double pointed needles
- 3 skeins worsted weight yarn, one skein each in three different colors
- Darning needle
About the Instructor:
An avid knitter for over 40 years, Amy Tozer has taught students of all ages from kindergartners to teens to adults. Her classes range from learn-to-knit to advanced beginner techniques like mosaic, cables and lace knitting. Amy believes strongly in the power of knitting as a creative expression and a way to create community. When she’s not knitting, Amy helps people buy, sell, and invest in real estate in intown Atlanta.
