Crafty Workshop: Yo-Yo Halloween Garland
Come spend a couple of hours hand-sewing, slowing down, and making something delightfully Halloween-y.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to turn fabric circles into traditional hand-sewn yo-yos, then string them together to create a festive Halloween garland. Along the way, we’ll use the simple, repetitive rhythm of hand sewing as an opportunity to slow down, pay attention, and enjoy making without getting hung up on perfection.
We’ll also share a few easy mindfulness practices you can bring into your other creative projects—nothing complicated, just ways to stay present and let your hands be busy for a while.
You’ll leave with your own Halloween garland and everything you need to keep making fabric yo-yos at home.
No sewing experience is needed, and all materials are provided.
Materials Needed The class fee includes all tools and supplies.
Dates Offered Friday, September 25, 1-3pm
About the Instructor
Stephanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and coach by day and The Crafty Social Worker every chance she gets. She loves pairing mindfulness with hands-on creativity and believes a busy, creative brain doesn't need fixing — just the right outlet. When she's not in sessions with neurospicy, anxious, or overwhelmed brains, you'll find her sewing, working with yarn, dabbling in paper crafts, playing with her pup and reptiles, or convincing herself she definitely has room for one more yard of fabric.
